The 97th edition of the International Exhibition of leather, accessories, components, fabrics, synthetics and models presented a winter 2020/2021 in the name of emotional intelligence.

From Wednesday 2 to Friday 4 October 2019 the 97th edition of Lineapelle Milano was held, the international event dedicated to the world of leather with 1270 selected exhibiting companies from 46 countries in the world. The event, hosted by Fieramilano Rho, is the appointment of the international exhibition calendar which offers a complete view of the new trends for the autumn – winter 2020 and 2021.

The research trends combine two important contemporary themes: the rapidity of technological evolution and the immediacy of human reactions that find a meeting point in emotional intelligence, the sublimation of rationality and pure instinct. This was, in fact, the starting point for the samples and some important training projects presented at the fair: Polimoda Florence, IUAV University of Venice, Istituto Marangoni Milano, Brera Academy of Milan, New Parsons School of Fashion, New York, Hongik University of Seoul.

Emotional intelligence has been translated, from a chromatic point of view, into a proposal dominated by the “digital red” and a range of colors that “are the most emotional there is, they are the thermometer of a boiling society. We live immersed in projected lights: museums, smartphones, screens, projections, electronic surfaces that illuminate, turn on and change the perception of environments and colors “. This concept has also been declined, on materials, where “the game between perfection and imperfection, which we no longer consider as opposed worlds, but rather in dialogue between them” dominates.

The novelty of this edition is represented by the space dedicated to circularity: The Leather (Re) Cycling Exhibition, an exhibition that is articulated in various levels that proposes an analysis of circularity and presents six innovative case histories of realities that recover waste and waste tanners and turn them into new products and raw materials.

The appointment with the 98th edition of Lineapelle is scheduled for 19, 20 and 21 February 2020.
