From clothing to footwear: everyone is crazy about Suede!

From Hippies to Disco Inferno, the 70s made history and continue to make it. Today more than ever, the fashion of those years is all to be reinvented and reinterpreted. Not surprisingly, the Spring-Summer 2021 catwalks were populated with nostalgic tributes to the 70s style with very light dresses as opposed to macramé lace garments, safari-style jackets, micro vests, denim and tie-dye cotton. However, the real revelation of this spring-summer is the triumph of suede.

Suede, which has long since disappeared from the major collections, becomes the protagonist of the SS 2021 fashion trends. Tod’s, Alberta Ferretti and Isabel Marant loudly propose boho chic-inspired jackets, miniskirts and pants strictly in suede. Not just the classic beige, light brown and camel, suede triumphs in every shade of color.

The must-have item for this season will obviously be the suede jacket reinterpreted in every possible variant, from the biker model to the elegant blazer. Sexy and versatile at the same time, suede jackets can be combined with any look: mini skirt and knee-high boots, straight or flared jeans, boho chic-inspired dresses and denim. A wonderful example is offered by Chiara Ferragni who, a few weeks after the birth of Baby V, on the occasion of a Milanese outing she showed off an oversized biker jacket in lined suede paired with a pair of cargo pants and ankle boots.

Not even the world of footwear can resist the charm of suede. Versace makes it the protagonist of sandals with a stiletto heel and square toe, while Roger Vivier focuses on slave sandals covered with elegant flowers. Finally, among the must-haves of this season there are the Texans in beige and caramel suede or color block like the It Shoe Dallas by Khaite.
